Last night was an exciting “paint a carving” class as this was the first time we were painting a mermaid. We had a wonderful group and it was a lot of fun. For the mermaid we used acrylic paints. The difference with the painting of the mermaid from the other classes we have done is that this time we used metallic paints on the mermaids tails to get that shiny metallic look. We used antique gold, bronze and silver. I think the whole group did a wonderful job and the other fun part of painting a mermaid is that you get to choose the color of the hair and color of the eyes, so in this way everyone has a unique personalized mermaid. We also put a black spot on our mermaids to make them our Homosassa redfish mermaids.
